Web Developer
Systems Integration & Development, an IT solutions provider located in Rockville, Maryland is currently seeking a driven and talented Web Developer to provide support for application development and maintenance. Primary responsibilities will be to perform modifications on existing web-based applications. This is a full time position located in Chattanooga, TN. A Nuclear Regulatory Commission security clearance must be granted prior to starting work. Any current active security clearance or previous access to government LAN is strongly preferred. NRC security clearance sponsorship is available for US Citizen or Greencard holder who is willing to commit to the position while waiting for security clearance to be granted. Additional roles and responsibilities include:
• Perform modifications to code in existing Intranet applications. This includes modification of page design and layout as well as modification to database connectivity software.
• Design and develop new database driven Intranet applications using Sybase Adaptive Server and Macromedia ColdFusion middleware. Projects may also require development of JavaScript functions and Common Gateway Interface (CGI) routines.
• Perform routine backups of software and management of backup media.
• Provide technical support to users.
• Prepare documentation for new and existing Intranet applications as directed.
Experience:
• 3+ years experience in developing web applications and programming in ColdFusion. We will also consider candidates with 3+ years of experience programming in Visual Basic, ASP, & HTML.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Four years of directly related work experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Skills:
• Strongly Preferred – ColdFusion, JavaScript.
• Preferred – ASP, HTML, Common Gateway Interface (CGI),
• Preferred - Knowledge of Adobe products such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop Illustrator, Acrobat, Flash, Air, Flex, Bridge and other graphic design programs.
• Preferred - Databases such as Sybase, Access and FileMakerPro, knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Media players such as Quicktime, Winamp, & Windows Media Player.
• A thorough knowledge of Internet/Intranet applications including the concepts of dynamic data exchange, HTML language, and basic design of web sites.
• An applied knowledge of database structure and relational database design as well as database programming and the Structured Query Language (SQL).
• A working knowledge of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Telnet as well as an understanding of the concepts of effective directory structure design and drive mapping across a network.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented.
• Must have a team player attitude.
• Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner.
Security Clearance:
• Nuclear Regulatory Commission security clearance must be granted prior to starting work. Any current active security clearance is strongly preferred. Previous access to government LAN is preferred.
• Initial sponsorship for the required security clearance is available to US Citizens and Greencard holders.
